THE THIRD DAY CHORALE LADIES – Conducted by Dr. Marion Doherty Hayden

We are an amateur choir based on the north side of Dublin, rehearsing on Wednesday nights in the Parish Resource Centre, Kilbarrack/Foxfield.  Our musical range includes classical, sacred, folk and modern. We perform several concerts every year in Ireland and every second year abroad both by ourselves and in collaboration with other choirs.

Quite simply, we love to sing. We are united by our love of singing, music and enjoying the beautiful sounds that we create together.  For information about joining our Choir, contact Maura on 087 9016430 or email 3rddaychorale@gmail.com.

Dr. Marion Doherty Hayden was Head of Music at St. Patrick’s College, Drumcondra for twenty-three years, where she lectured in undergraduate and postgraduate Music and conducted the College Choir and Orchestra in many choral, orchestral and operatic works.

In January 2018 Marion became conductor of The Third Day Chorale and since then has conducted them in Armagh, Belfast, Carlingford and Bern (Switzerland) as well as locally.

Marion is in demand as a continuo player on harpsichord, as an accompanist and adjudicator. She has taught for over 40 years on early music courses in Austria, Germany, France, Italy, England and Ireland. She plays viola in a string quartet and leads a consort of viols.

COR MEIBION CAERNARFON – Conducted by Mrs Delyth Humphreys

We are one of Wales’ most successful choirs. Over the years, we have performed in the best concert halls in Britain, including the Royal Albert Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall and St David’s Hall Cardiff. We are proud to have won first prize in the National Eisteddfod of Wales nine times. We have travelled and performed widely in the UK, Ireland, mainland Europe and North America.

Our repertoire is varied and popular. We sing in many languages, but mainly in Welsh and English. Our Patron is the world-famous bass baritone, Bryn Terfel.

Côr Meibion Caernarfon’s Musical Director since 2008 is Mrs Delyth Humphreys from Groeslon near Caernarfon. Delyth was educated at Ysgol Dyffryn Nantlle School near Caernarfon and then studied Music at Bangor University for her BMus. degree. She has worked as a Head of Music and Lecturer in Music in local schools and Bangor University. As well as her musical talent, she is also a fit and nimble athlete.
